Song stuck in my head

Heart skipped a beat
And when I caught it you were out of reach
And I'm sure, I'm sure
You've heard it before.

Home Sweet Home

Just got home from Tassie.

No welcoming committee at the airport. Just my $50 taxi ride.

Both of my housemates are away so I have the house to myself. It's quiet. And empty.

I used to live on my own so I should be used it it, but it feels kind of weird. Maybe it's something else that is missing. Or someone else.

I thought the cats would be really pleased to see me, but they are both ignoring me. Payback for leaving them on their own for 6 days I suppose.

So, I write this blog.

Do do do.....

17 days before I have to go back to work. That is good.

And so this is Christmas...

I'm not really in the Christmas spirit this year. I didn't buy any presents for anyone until yesterday.

I knew when I got down to Tassie (that's where I am) that I'd probably have some spare time on my hands to get presents for the family. And I did. I drove Bruce's (my stepfather's) awesome ute into town and got everything I needed in about 2 hours. See photo of the ute. I really like driving it. I think I'd be good on a farm. (not that my parents live on a farm - they're on the beach)

Now I have to wrap things. Putting that off also.

I'm just hanging out at my Mum's house alone today. Mum is still at work. Bruce is at work too. Sophie's gone to Monique's. Soon I will wrap presents and start to make the Pannacotta with berries and jelly that I am going to attempt for tomorrow. I have never made pannacotta before. With 2 layers! Exciting. I will post photo's if it turns out well.

Sophie and I dyed my hair the other night. Just put a bright red chunk in the side. SO punk. ha. Yeah, I quite like it. I wonder how long it will be before I am sick of it... Also see photo. It's been ages since I had anything bright in my hair.

Harriet the miniature dachund is here with me today. Everywhere I go, she goes. Here is a photo of her in her basket in the study as I write this blog. (and another picture I took of her this morning)

She's pretty cute. And old. And totally deaf. Can't hear a thing.

It just started raining. Nice. I love the rain.

OK.... well I guess I should get started on this wrapping and the dessert.

Hi Mum. (mum knew all about my drunken Meredith. From this blog I assume)

Merry Christmas readers.

I lost my shirt, I pawned my rings...

You know the next line.

I feel like that song. I saw Paul Kelly on the weekend at Meredith. Well... I remember facing the stage and paul kelly was playing, but that's about all.

I'm not really sure what happened, but by mid afternoon on Saturday I was really really drunk. I'm usually so good at not getting really smashed, but I guess it had to happen. Mixed myself a few strong vodka's around midday, didn't eat much, and wella! Dumb.

So I kind of ruined my day/night. Missed a few important bands I wanted to watch properly, couldn't hold a normal conversation with anyone and ended up losing everyone I'd been hanging out with. Happy Meredith!

I guess it could have been worse. I still managed to go and watch Eddy Current who I think(?) seemed to be amazing at the time. You either love them or hate them. I can totally get why people wouldn't like them, but I think they're pretty rad.

I've probably been a bit irresponsible lately. Slightly off the rails maybe? I've been spending heaps of money, staying out late and getting drunk every weekend (and not remembering parts of it), smoking cigarettes and just doing particular things that I wouldn't normally do. Not to mention the ridiculous credit card debt I've managed to rack up. Hmm.. Oh well.

I would like to write something about a boy, but I don't think I can. If he reads this, he will know it's about him... Actually, I don't even know if he really cares that much about me to read my blog. It's hard to tell. I know that I probably should listen to my head on this one and give up on him, but heart wins every time with me.
